Update Letter – May 2010

Dear Prayer-Partners,

First, let me say how sorry we are for the amount of time between our last letter and this one. We do want to keep you updated on the Lord’s work. Really we are the ones that suffer from it, knowing that your prayers for us are not as specific without regular updates. We appreciate your faithfulness to us in our “absence.”

God’s Stirring: “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”( Jn. 15:5)  How the Holy Spirit has stirred my heart through these words! God, Who cannot lie, promised that He would bring forth much fruit as we abide in Him and He in us! This is the ministry God has called us to—preaching for a revival of the abiding truths that produce much fruit.

In churches, we are finding somewhat of a separation occurring—a dividing line. Unfortunately, many have given up, saying that the best we can do in this age is just hold on and survive until Christ comes. But, praise God, there are others who are believing that God has not changed. His Holy Spirit is still with us, and He still desires to do great miracles in and through us to reach the multitudes. We are not to simply survive, but overcome! God will respond in might to the individuals and churches that believe His Word and expect His Works.

Praises: In our last letter we asked prayer for Sara’s brother, Levi, as he traveled with us. Thank you especially for praying in this area—God worked amazingly. We saw real growth and change in his life (and in ours). God also revealed His will for college training as Levi surrendered to go to West Coast Baptist College. Levi left us in early March to go to Honduras on a missions trip. Please pray that God uses this young man mightily in the ministry.

Also, we asked for prayer for Rosetta Stone Spanish. God answered that request and now we are diligently working on Levels 1 & 2. Pray God would give us speed in learning that we may preach Christ.

Prayer Requests:  Please continue to pray for Alton Hinote. I had another chance to witness to him in March. In our last conversation he said that he doesn’t “believe enough.” He is not resting fully in Christ’s work. What he considers faith is really a self-effort. Pray, as the hymn says, for his faith to find a resting place.

God has opened up some doors to meet some health needs in both of our lives. Pray for God’s specific leadership and care.

God has recently worked deeply in my life through the booklet “The 3-fold Secret of the Holy Spirit” by McConkey. I highly recommend it. Please pray for God’s power in my life which comes through faith. Pray specifically that I would have a steady “looking unto Jesus.”

Thank you a thousand times for your prayers on our behalf. May God continue to give you grace on your knees.
